Nursing Foot Care is suitable for anyone looking to maintain healthy feet. It is especially beneficial for people with diabetes, arthritis, reduced mobility, circulation concerns, thickened nails, corns, calluses, or anyone who finds it difficult to care for their own feet.

What happens during a Nursing Foot Care appointment?

Your appointment begins with a comprehensive foot assessment, followed by treatment tailored to your needs. This may include nail trimming and thinning, corn and callus reduction, ingrown toenail care, and education to help you maintain healthy feet between visits.

How often should I book an appointment?

The frequency of care depends on your individual needs. Many clients benefit from appointments every 6–8 weeks, although your nurse will recommend a schedule that is appropriate for you.

Do I need a referral?

No. A doctor's referral is not required. You can book an appointment directly.

Do you accept insurance?

Services are paid privately at the time of appointment, and a receipt will be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider. Coverage varies by plan; some extended health benefits, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and RCMP health benefits may provide reimbursement. Please check with your provider to confirm your coverage.

Are your instruments sterile?

Yes. We use single-use disposable instruments whenever appropriate, and all reusable instruments are thoroughly cleaned and steam sterilized according to manufacturer instructions. Instrument reprocessing follows IPAC Canada best practice guidelines to ensure safe, high-quality care.

How long does ToeFX® treatment take?

Toenails grow slowly, so visible improvement takes time. The complete ToeFX® program typically takes approximately 12 months, allowing healthy new nail to gradually replace damaged nail while ongoing care helps support the best possible results.

Do I need a confirmed diagnosis of toenail fungus before starting treatment?

Yes. A confirmed fungal diagnosis is required before beginning treatment. This can be provided through an existing physician or nurse practitioner diagnosis, or through PCR fungal testing arranged through our clinic if needed.
